White Peony, also known as Pai Mu Tan, is probably the best known of white teas. Often described as light and refreshing, it is made from the youngest leaves and unopened buds of the tea plant which are carefully hand-picked and then withered in the sun before being lightly oxidized. Long, silvery-white leaf tips lead to an amber infusion with mellow honey spicy notes.

Great tea.

A decent white Peony at a reasonable price. Quite small particles but a good amount of whole and part leaf. Flavour is good. That quintessential peony, velvet mouth feel and good fruity flavour profile. Good value.

Soothing White Tea

Am really enjoying this white tea again which has a delicate soothing flavour. The tea was very nicely packaged and as it was a birthday present to myself it was a special treat to get a nice birthday card enclosed along with some other samples to try. I am glad I found Shibui Teas as my previous supplier decided they were no longer going to stock White Peony and withdrew it from sale. I transitioned to their Green Tea but always hankered after the softer smoother taste of Peony White Tea. I am very pleased to have found Shibui teas and will now become a regular customer for all my leaf tea.

Finally, White Peony!

I've been struggling to find my favourite loose leaf tea White Peony online (seems as though everyone has sold out, even Whittards) and through an online search I found Shibui. Took a leap of faith and ordered the biggest bag they sold (250g, great value) and upon arrival eagerly brewed up a cup. That familiar mellow bitter taste hit my senses and I'm pleased to report Shibui is now my new favourite. With both tea leaves and buds, it's a high quality blend compared to the cheaper leaves only you sometimes find and the taste, packaging, service and delivery time doesn't disappoint. 100% recommended.
